New Off Wix · custom site, owned outright.

A serious Wix alternative for UK businesses.

For people who outgrew Wix, paid the upgrades, found the limits, and want a real site instead. £999 one-off, £99 a month — same price band as Wix Business with premium apps, except this time you own the code.

Build
£999

One-off build fee. Custom Laravel + Tailwind site, designed and deployed against your domain. Migrated off Wix with redirects intact.

Run
£99 / mo

Hosting, security, monitoring and content / copy / image edits each month. Roughly what a Wix Business plan with premium apps costs.

Vs Wix
No platform fee on revenue

No Wix Payments cut on transactions, no upgrade-to-unlock walls, no premium-app subscription stack. The £99 covers what the platform fees and per-edit hours used to.

Brief us
Why this shape

Wix is the right answer for about two years.

Wix is genuinely good for the first year of a business. Easy to start, looks fine, gets you trading. Then it starts to charge for the things you actually need. Better SEO needs a higher plan. A booking system needs a premium app. Wix Payments takes a cut of every transaction. The editor that felt freeing in month one starts to feel like a corridor in month eighteen.

The honest answer most agencies give at that point is “rebuild from scratch for £5,000–£10,000”. We give a different one: a custom Laravel + Tailwind site for £999 with the same monthly cost as a Wix Business plan, except yours covers content edits and you own the code. Same stack we run our own businesses (Homemove, home.co.uk, homedata.co.uk) on.

The headline 36-month number is genuinely higher with us. The difference is that at the end of year three you own a custom-built website — not a recurring subscription with no asset at the end of it — and any transaction revenue that flowed through the site stayed yours.

What custom buys you

The Wix limits you do not see until you hit them.

You own the repo

The site lives in a git repository we hand to you. If we ever fall out, you walk to another developer with the code intact. Wix sites cannot leave Wix.

No platform cut on revenue

You take payments through Stripe or GoCardless direct. No Wix Payments cut on every transaction, no upgrade-to-unlock-checkout wall.

Real SEO under the hood

Server-rendered Laravel pages, clean URLs, proper schema, a sitemap we control, redirects we manage by hand. Most of the Wix SEO complaints disappear at the technical layer.

Custom integrations

Connect to your CRM, your booking system, your warehouse, your API. Wix apps stop where the marketplace stops. Custom code starts where you need it to.

Faster, by default

A custom static-and-server-rendered site loads in a few hundred milliseconds. Wix sites carry the editor runtime even on visitor pages, and the speed test usually reflects it.

No lock-in clause

Cancel the £99 / month with one month’s notice. Take the codebase and the deployment instructions with you. There is no platform you cannot leave.

How the migration works

Off Wix in one working week.

01

Audit

We crawl the existing Wix site, list every page with organic traffic, pull the content and the imagery. By Tuesday we have a migration sheet you sign off on.

02

Build

Custom Laravel + Tailwind build that mirrors the content shape and improves the design. Live on a staging URL by Wednesday for review; round-one changes shipped by Thursday.

03

Cut over

Friday: DNS switches off Wix and onto your new infrastructure. 301 redirects from every old URL to the new one. Sitemap re-submitted to Google. £99 / month starts from the cut-over.

Hundreds of unique website designs floating against a moonlit night sky — every one designed to its own brand, none templated.
Designed to spec

A million ways this could look. None of them templates.

Every site we build is designed to spec, branded for one client. No shared theme between brands. No component kit we recycle. Your site won’t look like anyone else’s because nobody else got your brief.

  • Designed to spec. Every page laid out fresh against your brief — not a pre-made template with your logo dropped in.
  • Branded to you. Typography, palette, motion language and component shape all chosen for this brand, not a previous client’s.
  • Yours forever. Code lives in a git repo that is yours from day one. No platform lock-in, no proprietary CMS, no exit fee.
FAQ

The migration questions buyers ask.

I am on Wix today. How does the migration actually work?

We rebuild your site on a custom Laravel + Tailwind stack to match the same content shape, then point your domain at the new build. Existing URLs that ranked are preserved with 301 redirects so the SEO does not collapse. Wix-hosted assets (images, copy blocks, gallery sets) are pulled across by hand or, where the export allows it, by script. Most agencies-on-Wix migrations land in the same five working days.

Will my Google rankings survive moving off Wix?

Yes if we do the migration properly. The big risk on a platform move is broken redirects — old URLs returning 404s. We map every page that has organic traffic, set up 301 redirects from the old paths to the new ones, and re-submit the sitemap. Most clients see no organic dip; some see a lift once the new site loads faster than Wix did.

I like the Wix editor. Will I lose the ability to edit my site?

You will lose the visual drag-and-drop, yes — that is the trade for code you own. In exchange, the £99 / month retainer covers the content / copy / image edits you would have done yourself on Wix anyway. Email a Loom or a Google Doc with the change, we ship it inside a couple of days. Most clients find they make fewer fiddly edits than they thought because the new site is sharper to begin with.

How does the cost compare to Wix over three years?

Wix Business plans typically run roughly £25 to £35 per month before add-ons, with premium apps and Wix Payments transaction fees on top. Across three years that is in the order of £1,500 to £2,500. Moonlabs is £999 plus £99 / month — £4,563 over the same window — for a custom-built site you own, with content changes included rather than billed by the hour. The trade is up-front cost for ownership and capability.

Can I sell on the new site? Wix Payments handled the checkout for me.

Yes — we integrate with Stripe, GoCardless or whichever processor fits your business, with no platform mark-up on transactions. We will tell you on the first call which one is cleanest given your products, average order value and where you ship.

I have a Wix Studio site built by an agency. Does that change anything?

Mostly not. Wix Studio gives you more design control but the migration shape is the same: rebuild on a custom stack, port content, set redirects, switch DNS. If you have heavy database-driven content (a property listings feed, a job board), tell us on the first call — that is where we will spend the engineering time.
