Brief us
Why this shape

You did not start the business to manage a website project.

The biggest cost of a small-business website is not the £999 quote — it is the time the owner has to spend on the project. Three meetings, fifteen email threads, a logo brief, a colour palette to approve, a copywriter to wrangle, a designer to give feedback to, a developer to remind, a hosting account to set up. By the time the site is live, the owner has lost a fortnight of real work and the agency has the receipts to charge for two more.

We collapse all of that into roughly an hour of the owner’s time across the build week. One senior operator runs the brief call, drafts the copy with AI tooling, designs the pages, writes the code, and ships the deploy. Same stack we run our own businesses (Homemove, home.co.uk, homedata.co.uk) on. The £99 / month is what makes the project end at the end, instead of becoming a permanent open task on your to-do list.

Your time vs ours

What you actually have to do. What we handle so you don’t.

The whole build week, from your desk and from ours. Two columns; one of them is short.

You, the owner

Roughly an hour, all in

  • Mon AM
30 min brief call. Half-hour conversation about what the business does and what the site needs to do. No prep required.
  • Mon PM
10 min spec review. We send back a one-page spec by end of Monday. Read it, sense-check, hit reply if anything is off.
  • Wed PM
15 min staging review. Staging URL ready by Wednesday evening. Click through it on your phone, send back any "make this bigger" notes.
  • Fri PM
5 min sign-off. Final pass on the polish, give the green light, DNS switches over. Site is live.
  • Throughout
A handful of WhatsApp replies. "Do you prefer this or that?" decisions through the week, answered in under a minute each.
Total: ~60 minutes of your time across the full build week.
Us, off your desk

Everything else

  • Drafting and tightening the copy for every page
  • Designing each page against your brand — or building a clean brand kit if you don’t have one
  • Sourcing imagery (or briefing into editorial stock if you don’t have photos)
  • Building the site in Laravel + Tailwind, with real forms, real auth where you need it, real SEO meta
  • Setting up hosting on infrastructure we run for our own businesses
  • Configuring your domain, DNS records, email forwarding and SSL
  • Wiring up analytics, sitemap, robots.txt, social meta and structured data
  • Testing on mobile, desktop and the awkward browsers your customers actually use
  • Monitoring, backup schedule, security patching and dependency updates — from day one
Not your problem. One senior operator does it all and emails when something needs your input.

The asymmetric time budget is the whole point. An SMB owner who pays for a website project should spend their week running the business, not chasing a project manager.

What an owner-operator needs

The bits we deliberately included.

One person both sides

You talk to one senior operator. The person on the brief call writes the code and emails you back about a misspelt phone number two months later. No account manager, no PM, no agency intake form.

Direct contact, no inbox

WhatsApp or email straight to the operator who built the site. No support ticket system, no SLA tier list, no "we will get back to you within 5 business days." If we are working that day, you hear back that day.

Predictable total cost

£999 once. £99 every month. That is the entire commercial relationship. No "the strategy plan is more", no transaction fees, no per-user pricing, no rate hike at month 13.

Edits without hourly billing

New service line? Updated pricing? Refreshed bio? New partner photo? All inside the £99 / month. No "that will be 30 minutes at our hourly rate." If the change is small, it is just included.

Owner-friendly first call

No technical jargon, no agency-speak, no "discovery workshop." You explain the business in plain English; we explain the trade-offs in plain English. The first call is a half-hour, not a half-day.

Built for the long tail

Plumbers, accountants, clinics, salons, consultants, electricians, estate agents, recruiters, restaurants. We have built variants of all of these. We are not learning your business shape on your project.

How it works

Brief on Monday. Live by the end of the week.

01

Brief

Half-hour call in plain English. No prep needed. We will draft a one-page spec back inside the same day for you to sense-check on your phone.

02

Build

Design, copy, build and deploy across one working week. Staging URL by mid-week for a 15-minute review. One senior operator end-to-end, no agency middle layer.

03

Run

£99 / month from launch onwards. Email the change, we ship it — no ticket, no hourly clock. The same person who built it answers when you email.

Hundreds of unique website designs floating against a moonlit night sky — every one designed to its own brand, none templated.
Designed to spec

A million ways this could look. None of them templates.

Every site we build is designed to spec, branded for one client. No shared theme between brands. No component kit we recycle. Your site won’t look like anyone else’s because nobody else got your brief.

  • Designed to spec. Every page laid out fresh against your brief — not a pre-made template with your logo dropped in.
  • Branded to you. Typography, palette, motion language and component shape all chosen for this brand, not a previous client’s.
  • Yours forever. Code lives in a git repo that is yours from day one. No platform lock-in, no proprietary CMS, no exit fee.
FAQ

The SMB owner’s questions.

I run the whole business on my own. How much of my time will this actually take?

Under an hour, across the full build week. Half an hour for the brief call on Monday morning, fifteen minutes to review the staging site mid-week, five minutes to sign off on Friday, plus a couple of short replies to "do you prefer this or that?" questions in WhatsApp. After launch you email or Loom us a change request whenever something needs updating; we ship it. No standing meetings, no project plan to read.

I do not have copywriting / photography / a logo. Will this still work?

Yes. We draft copy with you on the brief call using AI tooling and tighten it through the week. If you do not have a logo we will set the site in clean typography that looks professional and revisit the logo later under the retainer. If you do not have photos, we use editorial stock for launch and swap to your own photos when you have them — included in the £99 / month, not billed extra.

I am a one-person business — will the site look like a one-person business?

Only if you want it to. We design every page deliberately; nothing comes out looking templated. Most owner-operators want to look as professional and credible as a 10-person agency would, and that is what we build. If you want the personal, one-person feel front-and-centre, we can do that too — tell us on the brief call.

What kinds of small businesses have you built for?

Plumbers, accountants, clinics, salons, consultants, electricians, estate agents, advisory firms, restaurants, recruitment desks, and a long tail of owner-operated UK service businesses. The pattern is the same: an owner who wants a credible site fast, who does not want to manage the project, and who would rather pay £99 / month than be billed by the hour every time a price needs changing.

How is this different from the local web design agency that quoted me £4,000?

Most local SMB web design quotes between £3,000 and £8,000 are paying for the agency’s account-management layer, design-by-committee revision rounds, and project-management overhead. The actual website is usually the same shape we deliver. We removed the studio overhead, kept the senior operator, and let AI tooling do the rest. The £99 / month replaces their "care plan" or hourly call-off rate.

What if I want to take the site somewhere else later?

You can, any time. The code lives in a git repository that is yours from day one. Cancel the £99 / month with one month’s notice and we hand over the codebase plus deployment instructions; another developer can take over from there. No exit fee, no stranded content, no platform you cannot leave.

A website without the project.

Tell us about the business in plain English. If we’re a fit, we’ll come back inside 24 hours with a one-page spec.
