AI built the prototype. You should own the production.
For UK businesses that tried Bolt, Lovable, Framer AI or Wix AI and hit the wall on custom logic, real auth or hosting they actually control. £999 to build a real site on your own stack, £99 a month to look after it. Same AI speed, with engineers driving.
One-off build fee. Custom Laravel + Tailwind site, real auth and database where you need them, deployed against your domain in one working week.
Hosting, monitoring, security, backups and small content / copy / image changes every month. No usage-based pricing surprises.
Real database, real auth, real integrations. A git repository you own at month 1, month 12 and month 36. AI builders cannot give you any of that.
Brief usAI builders are great. Until they are not.
Bolt, Lovable, v0, Framer AI, Wix AI — the prompt-to-site category is genuinely impressive. For the first 30 minutes of any project, they are faster than we are. A landing page mocked up, a colour palette agreed, a contact form bolted on; if you are testing an idea on Tuesday and want to send a link to your group chat on Wednesday, they are the right tool.
Then comes the cliff. You want a real database for customer records. You want user accounts with proper roles. You want a webhook from your CRM to populate a private dashboard. You want a scheduled job. You want to take the code with you. The AI builders are not built for any of that — they are built to keep you on the platform. We pick up where they stop. Same AI tooling under the hood (Cursor, Claude Code), used by senior engineers, producing a real Laravel + Tailwind codebase on the same stack we use to run Homemove, home.co.uk and homedata.co.uk.
Where each workflow shines. Where each workflow breaks.
Two workflows for getting from idea to live site, side by side. Most businesses end up doing both at different moments — we are honest about which is which.
Prompt-to-site
Bolt · Lovable · v0 · Framer AI · Wix AI
Type a prompt, see a layout in seconds. Visual editor for tweaks no engineer is needed for. Cheap and good for prototypes / link-in-bio sites. Real database with custom schemas — ceiling hit. Real auth with roles / permissions — ceiling hit. Custom integrations with your CRM / API — ceiling hit. True code ownership — mostly no, locked to the platform.
Brief-to-site
Moonlabs · Cursor · Claude Code · Laravel
Half-hour brief call, one-page spec back in 24 hours. Site on a staging URL inside a few working days. Real Laravel + Tailwind code, owned by you in a git repo. Real database with whatever schema your business needs. Real auth, roles, permissions, audit trails. Real custom integrations with your CRM, ATS, Stripe, anything. £99 / month covers hosting and small changes after launch.
We have used Bolt and Lovable in our own businesses for early prototypes. The page exists for the day after the prototype lands — when you need to build the production version that actually runs the business.
What we ship that prompt-to-site cannot.
A real database
Postgres with proper schemas, migrations, indexes and constraints. Whatever your business actually needs to model — customer records, jobs, orders, bookings, journeys — lives in a real database, not a vendor sandbox.
Real auth and roles
User accounts, admin roles, customer portals, multi-tenant access. With real password rules, password reset flows, optional 2FA, and audit logs of who did what. None of which the AI builders can do at the schema level.
Custom integrations
Webhooks into your CRM. Stripe with custom checkout flows. ATS integrations. Internal APIs. Whatever connects the site to the rest of your stack. Not "if the platform has an app for it" — whatever you can describe, we wire.
Scheduled jobs and queues
Sending the Monday newsletter at 09:00. Reminders to customers two days before an appointment. Nightly imports from a partner feed. Real backend cron jobs and queues, not a third-party automation tool stitched on top.
Same AI tools, used as engineers
Cursor and Claude Code do most of the typing on our side too. We just use them as senior-engineering tooling — reviewed by an operator, deployed via CI/CD, kept honest by tests. You get AI speed without AI-builder ceilings.
A repo, not a subscription
A real git repository is handed to you on day one. Cancel the £99 / month with one month’s notice and the code stays with you. Most prompt-to-site tools cannot give you a usable code export at all.
Bring the prototype. Leave with the production.
Brief
Half-hour call. Show us the prototype if you have one — we will read it as the richest possible spec. One-page production plan back inside 24 hours.
Build
Custom Laravel + Tailwind site. Real auth, real database, real integrations where you need them. Live on a staging URL inside a few working days.
Run
£99 / month from launch onwards. Hosting, monitoring, security and small changes are covered. The git repo is yours from day one; you can walk away whenever you want.
A million ways this could look. None of them templates.
Every site we build is designed to spec, branded for one client. No shared theme between brands. No component kit we recycle. Your site won’t look like anyone else’s because nobody else got your brief.
-
Designed to spec. Every page laid out fresh against your brief — not a pre-made template with your logo dropped in. -
Branded to you. Typography, palette, motion language and component shape all chosen for this brand, not a previous client’s. -
Yours forever. Code lives in a git repo that is yours from day one. No platform lock-in, no proprietary CMS, no exit fee.
The honest comparison questions.
Which AI website builders are you comparing against?
Tools like Bolt, Lovable, v0, Framer AI, Wix AI and Squarespace Blueprint AI — the prompt-to-site generation of products. They are genuinely good at the first 30 minutes of building a site. The page exists because most UK businesses we talk to have already tried one of them, hit a wall on custom logic, real auth or hosting, and want the next step.
Can I just keep using Bolt / Lovable / Framer AI?
Yes, if your business actually fits inside the ceiling of those tools. They are excellent for prototypes, internal demos, founder-mode marketing sites and ideas you want to spin up quickly. We genuinely use them at the prototyping stage in our own businesses. The page is for the moment you outgrow that — usually the first time you need a real database, real user accounts, or a real integration with your CRM or stripe.
What can your site do that the AI builders cannot?
Real custom database schemas, real authentication with roles and permissions, real third-party integrations (CRM, ATS, payment processors with custom flows, your existing API), real scheduled jobs and queues, real audit trails. Anything that requires a backend you control rather than a vendor sandbox. We are not faster than the builders for "five marketing pages" — we are unblocked beyond them.
Do you still use AI to build the site?
Constantly. Cursor and Claude Code do most of the keyboard work; we do the architecture, the design taste, the deploy and the call with you. The difference is that we use AI as a senior-engineering tool and hand you the resulting Laravel + Tailwind codebase — not as a customer-facing editor that owns the output.
How is this different from a no-code agency that uses Webflow or Framer?
No-code agencies build on the same platform you would buy yourself, then charge you a setup fee on top of the platform’s monthly cost. We build on a stack you own outright, with no platform fee underneath. If we ever fall out, you walk to another developer with a git repo, not a Webflow workspace you would need to keep paying for.
Will my AI-built prototype be a useful starting point?
Often, yes. If you came in with a Bolt or Lovable export, we treat it as a richer brief than a Google Doc. We read the design intent, the page structure and the rough flows out of it, and rebuild on the production stack with the bits you actually need (auth, billing, integrations) wired in properly. The prototype shortens the spec call; it does not become the production code.
Bring the prototype. Leave with the production.
Send us the Bolt / Lovable / Framer link — we’ll come back inside 24 hours with a production plan.
